The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has repatriated a total of 190 Nigerian individuals from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
A statement issued by the NEMA Director General, Bashir Garga, confirmed that the Nigerians arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at 5:57 AM on Tuesday. They were received by a government team that included NEMA officials.
These repatriated Nigerians have undergone necessary checks and processes by the authorities and have been advised on the importance of exhibiting respect and responsibility upon their return to Nigeria.
NEMA has emphasized the need for Nigerians living abroad to represent their country positively and serve as role models in their respective communities.
The statement emphasized, “The Federal Government has brought back One Hundred and Ninety (190) Nigerians from the United Arab Emirates. Upon arrival at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at 05:57, they were received by a team of government officials led by NEMA.
“The returnees were registered and guided on appropriate behavior upon returning to Nigeria.
“The federal government calls on all Nigerians, regardless of their location, to demonstrate patriotism and uphold values of lawfulness, decency, and integrity as representatives of their nation.”
