A man named Kayode Adesile experienced an unexpected and tragic event when he visited his wife, Oluwaseun Omolara Olusola, on June 25, 2024, at their home in the Powerline area of Meiran, Lagos. Adesile, an automobile technician, had unknowingly angered Esther, his wife’s 15-year-old daughter from a previous marriage, for reprimanding her for disrespecting her mother.
Esther, upset by the reprimand, invited hoodlums to teach her stepfather a lesson. These hoodlums attacked Adesile while he was visiting, recording the assault on video with their phones.
Adesile said, “I reprimanded her for being rude to her mother, not knowing she was upset. The hoodlums were waiting for me, and when I visited on June 26, Esther signaled them to attack me.”
After the assault, the attackers falsely accused Adesile of attacking them when he reported the incident to the Meiran Police Station. However, the police later discovered the truth and released Adesile.
Adesile’s wife, Oluwaseun, expressed that her daughter Esther was being manipulated by unscrupulous family members and neighbors to mistreat her husband.
Oluwaseun shared, “Esther’s father mistreated me in the past, and I have worked hard to provide a good life and education for Esther and her siblings after our separation.”
Despite Oluwaseun’s efforts, Esther had been disrespectful and disobedient, even planning the assault on her stepfather with the help of family members and neighbors.
In a recorded conversation, Esther accused Adesile of misconduct toward her, which Adesile vehemently denied, claiming it was a fabrication orchestrated by those wanting to manipulate Esther.
The police were contacted for a response but did not provide any comments at the time of inquiry.
