Anambra Teacher Who Beat Pupil To Death Sentenced To 21

Following the tragic incident where a teacher, Mrs. Faith Nwoye, caused the death of a 9-year-old student through physical punishment, she has been found guilty and sentenced to 21 years in prison.

The sentence was passed by a special court specializing in cases related to women and children in Awka. The unfortunate event took place at Landmark International School in Mgbakwu, Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The victim, Master Henry Okonkwo, has been laid to rest in his hometown of Igbakwu in Ayamelum Local Government Area of the State.

The child passed away in the Intensive Care Unit of an Awka hospital after sustaining injuries from the beating administered by the teacher that led to a coma.

The Commissioner for Education, Prof Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, conveyed the heartfelt condolences of the educational community and the State Government to the Okonkwo family for their significant loss.
