A teenage boy is currently in critical condition at a hospital in Warri, Delta State, after reportedly being drugged and sexually assaulted by a wealthy local chief.
The details were shared by human rights advocate Comrade Israel Joe, who visited the boy at St. Melvin hospital.
In his post, he recounted the events leading to the incident: “Earlier today, my team and I went to the hospital to meet with the boy who was mercilessly drugged and assaulted by a well-known chief in Warri.”
He explained that the chief had lured the boy under the pretense of giving him clothes and offered him food that contained narcotics. This caused the unsuspecting boy to lose consciousness, leading to horrific consequences.
The boy, whose mother is deaf and mute and who has lost his father, fell victim to this scheme. Upon awakening in the hospital, he was horrified to find himself covered in blood, with his mother tending to him in distress.
Comrade Joe emphasized that despite the chief’s apparent status, he would be held accountable under the law, stating, “We will make it clear to him that he is not above the law. More details will be provided soon.”
