It has always been said and proven that there is always a story behind every situation or circumstances or events that happens in life. So I was thinking about the movie industry today and someone came to my mind. An uprising young talented Nollywood actress who died few years ago, Bisi Komolafe, and I decided to dive into the story.
I was just thinking about the late young star and how she died and how her career went to the grave. Come to think of it, when you look at the rate at which actors and actresses have been dying in the industry for the past few years we tend to think that something is going on in the movie industry that we all don’t know about. You know maybe it is a kind of a thing we all just ignore or forget about until it gets too late.
Most of you know Bisi Komalafe and most of you might not. Bisi Komolafe was an uprising Nollywood young star that started her career few years ago. She was born In 1986 in city of Ibadan, she graduated from the department of Business Administration from Lagos state university. She got into the movie industry in the year 2008 and she started rising up with her feature in the movie ‘Igboro ti daru’ , showcasing in more movies with time and she became popular due to her talent and consistency and her career started booming but I think a lot of people were not happy with her popularity and fame.
You know, no matter what you do some people will always fine a reason to find a fault in you and they will not be happy with whatever you do no matter how good you are and you know in the Yoruba world we have different calibre of people ranging from the good to the wicked ones.
The Yoruba community especially the older generation tend to find difficulty living with the fact that their younger ones are making wave more than them, don’t get me wrong I am not saying we are all bunch of wicked people but we all know what I mean but this is not the case with Bisi Komolafe as most people have assumed that the rising star was attacked spiritually by haters and wicked people and maybe some of her counterparts too.
It was during the period of the fame and popularity of Bisi komolafe that Mercy Aigbe, Funke Akindele and many other nollywood actors and actresses including Odunayo Adekola and others were also building a career for themselves in the industry and the competition was so high then and we all know that the entertainment industry today is about how much wave you can make and not about how many movies you release or showcase in.
Basically your fame in the movie industry depends solely on how much people love you and how many times you can top the entertainment news without much stress but talent showcase and you know people really loved Bisi Komolafe and they really wanted more from her and she was making more waves than any of the actors and actresses then, including film makers and directors, could ever make then so her death had brought up the conclusion by her fans that she was attacked spiritually due to her fame and excessive popularity among the masses and in the movie industry.
Many people still think or assume that the popular nollywood actress and film maker was an object of spiritual attack or so but from the result released by the University College Hospital in Ibadan (UCH) after her death we can discover that Bisi komolafe was never an object of spiritual attack or any form of attack whatsoever from wicked people as she died in the university teaching hospital in Ibadan, UCH, on December 31th, 2012 due to pregnancy related complications and other health related issues.
As far as I know the popular actress, director and film maker, Bisi Komolafe was never married and we have no idea if she was planning to do so the news of her dying due to pregnancy complications has brought up different conclusions that she tried to abort her unwanted pregnancy which lead to her death. We still don’t know how true the story of abortion is but what we know for sure is that she died due to pregnancy complications.
I can understand the fact that she took herself as a celebrity, a role model and as someone whom other youngsters look up to as their model so she might have made up her mind not to get entangled in any scandal that would tanish her image or ridicule her morals and upbringing. We don’t know how true it is but maybe she made an effort to terminate her unwanted pregnancy so as not to become the point of discussion by people who don’t like her and this had lead to complications which resulted in her emergency rush down to the University College Hospital, UCH, in ibadan for an emergency treatment which finally lead to her death on the 31St of December 2012.
We all make mistakes in life, some are simple mistakes while some are life threatening. Bisi Komolafe made a very big mistake which took her life and her career but I still respect her for the fact, that she achieved what many of her mates could not in a very short while.
The story of Bisi Komolafe’s fame still remain a drive for many youths today to always push forward and never give up no matter the situation. Bisi Komolafe came, she saw and conquered and her love still remains in our heart. We love Bisi Komolafe.
