Three individuals, Kalifa Ibrahim, Abdullahi Abubakar, and Fahad Kabiru, have been apprehended by the Kebbi State Police for their alleged involvement in child sexual offenses.
The announcement was made on Monday, January 13, 2024, by the police spokesperson, CSP Nafiu Abubakar.
“On January 5, 2025, at around 4 PM, 19-year-old Kalifa Ibrahim from the Gwazange area in Argungu was reported to have taken an 8-year-old girl, Rukayya Umar, to a secluded location where he engaged in sexual acts with her,” the statement detailed.
“Upon receiving the report, police officers acted swiftly and arrested the suspect.”
“Additionally, on the same day at approximately 12:30 PM, 32-year-old Abdullahi Abubakar from Gwandu town enticed a 4-year-old girl, Fatima Abubakar, to an unfinished building where he also committed sexual acts. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.”
“Furthermore, on January 6, 2025, around 11:20 AM, Fahad Kabiru, an Okada rider from Gesse Phase 1 in Birnin Kebbi, was arrested for impregnating 16-year-old Hafsat Sa’idu. He has admitted to the crime.”
The Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Sani, has instructed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department to thoroughly investigate these cases and ensure a proper legal process is followed.
He also urged the residents of Kebbi State to remain vigilant and mindful of who they trust with their children.
