Three individuals are currently in police custody on suspicion of stealing a tipper truck valued at over N30 million along the Kaduna-Abuja highway in Suleja, Niger State.

The suspects have been identified as Nura Ibrahim, Adamu Ibrahim, and Abdulfatai Ibrahim, all residing on Kaduna Road in Suleja.

According to SP Wasiu Abiodun, the Public Relations Officer for the Niger State Police Command, these men have been arrested for conspiracy, theft, and possession of stolen property.

He reported that on October 14, 2024, at around 1 PM, police received a tip about a white tipper truck, with engine number 071231 and chassis number AZ1642440082, which was suspected to be stolen and found in a workshop along the expressway in Suleja.

Police from the Maje Division responded to the scene and discovered that Nura Ibrahim, age 37, was attempting to sell the truck to Adamu Ibrahim, also known as Dan Borno, for N9.5 million.
They were in the process of selling the vehicle in parts when law enforcement arrived.

Initial investigations revealed that Nura had stolen the truck from the Lugbe area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and transported it to Kaduna Road, while Adamu purchased the stolen vehicle and Abdulfatai facilitated the sale,” stated SP Abiodun. He added that the suspects are under further investigation and will face charges in court soon.

Additionally, Abiodun mentioned that another suspect, Jamilu Ismail, aged 32, from Shaku village, Lapai, was apprehended with three stolen mobile phones after one of the victims raised an alarm.

The stolen phones were recovered after police conducted a search on the suspect in the Suleja Local Government Area.
