Nigerian Singer Timaya Discusses His Single Status
Timaya, a well-known singer in Nigeria, recently shared his thoughts on why he remains unmarried during an interview on NAIJA FM.
He expressed that marriage was never something he envisioned for himself, saying, “I’ve never been a marriage guy right from time, but it can change. I just look at it like if I marry today, would I be able to get out? In all my previous relationships, I was the one who got out because I don’t like stress.”
The artist also emphasized the importance of open dialogue in relationships, as he prefers not to dwell on issues. He stated, “If you have a problem with me, let’s talk about it. I don’t like going to bed with things on my mind; I go die o. I don’t like anything to bother me at all.”
Regarding his role as a father, Timaya shared that his children live with their mothers, but they maintain a strong connection. He remarked, “Being a father is stressful because I love them too much, but it’s enjoyable. My four kids live with their mothers so when I want to see them, I ask their mothers and they come to my house. We spend two to three months together, then they go back. Christmas is coming, and they’ll spend it with me as well, but their mothers won’t come because they’re in relationships. We’re all family now, so I can’t date any of them, we respect each other.”
