On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu submitted a budget proposal amounting to N1.48 trillion for the Rivers State Government to the National Assembly for their review and approval.
This proposal was prompted by the Supreme Court’s annulment of the 2025 state budget and the current state of emergency in Rivers.
The proposed budget allocates ₦324 billion for infrastructure, ₦166 billion for the health sector, ₦75.6 billion for education, and ₦31.4 billion for agricultural initiatives.
Additionally, the budget is projected to create approximately 6,000 jobs in the agriculture sector. The President urged lawmakers to swiftly approve the proposal for the benefit of the state and its residents.
