President Tinubu Celebrates Wahid Oshodi’s ATTF Presidency

President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Wahid Oshodi, following his election as President of the African Table Tennis Federation (ATTF).

Oshodi was unanimously elected during the 2024 Annual General Meeting held on October 15 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, marking a proud milestone for Nigeria and the continent’s table tennis landscape.

Oshodi’s nomination came from the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation and was supported by various African nations, leading to his new role as ATTF president.

In a statement from Tinubu’s media aide, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised Oshodi’s accomplishment, noting the broad support he garnered from Nigeria and elsewhere in Africa.

Tinubu acknowledged Oshodi’s steadfast commitment to nurturing table tennis at the grassroots level in Nigeria, along with his integrity, accountability, and dedication to sports administration. He mentioned that this election signifies a strong endorsement of Oshodi’s leadership and his meaningful contributions to the sport.

Furthermore, President Tinubu conveyed his belief that Oshodi will utilize his vast experience in leadership to enhance the ATTF and advance table tennis across Africa.

It is noteworthy that Wahid Oshodi becomes the second Nigerian to hold the position of ATTF president.
