Tragic Loss at FMC Abeokuta

Adeniyi Oluwaseun, who served as the Acting Head of the Audit Department at the Federal Medical Centre in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has sadly ended his life by leaping into a well in the Obantoko vicinity.

The tragic event occurred on Sunday evening shortly after he finished his meal.

While the specific cause behind his decision remains unclear, it has been reported that he struggled with mental health issues and had sought treatment in the past.

Rescue teams retrieved his body from the well, which has since been taken to a morgue.

On Tuesday, Segun Orisajo, the Head of Public Relations and Communication at FMC Abeokuta, confirmed the incident and expressed deep sorrow over the loss. He described Adeniyi as a dedicated and valued employee, emphasizing the shock felt by the hospital’s community.

Orisajo stated, “It is confirmed that he took his own life, which is indeed a tragic occurrence. The management is deeply saddened by this news.”

He further added, “This tragic event has left the entire management in disbelief. It is a profound loss, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to both his colleagues in the department and his family during this difficult time.”
