A tragic incident has unfolded as Chris Terfa-Ikpu, an Executive Director at the Concerned Youth Development Initiative, was brutally murdered by gunmen in Benue State.
The perpetrators traced Terfa-Ikpu to his office in the Logo area of Makurdi, the capital of Benue State, and carried out the fatal attack on Friday.
Reports indicate that the victim had recently returned to his office after being away for some time before the violent incident occurred.
Upon arrival, the armed assailants forcefully entered the office premises by shooting the security personnel stationed there.
An eyewitness disclosed, “The gunmen inquired about Terfa and were directed to his office by one of his colleagues.”
Stanley Chimin, a close associate of the deceased, shared with journalists in Makurdi that the victim had been absent from the state for a period leading up to the tragedy.
Following the attack, family members rushed Terfa-Ikpu to the hospital, where he was tragically pronounced dead.
The deceased’s remains were subsequently taken to the morgue at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital in Makurdi.
Efforts to reach the state command spokesperson, Catherine Anene, for official confirmation proved unsuccessful as calls to her went unanswered, and text messages went unacknowledged.
