Tragic Incident in Katsina Village as Bandits Attack

A tragic incident unfolded in Maidabino village, Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State as bandits armed with sophisticated weapons invaded the village, resulting in the loss of seven lives and the destruction of homes and property.

The bandits attacked the village around 10:00 pm on Saturday, June 22, and carried out their operation for about three hours, creating terror among the residents.

During the attack, seven individuals lost their lives, and an unspecified number of women and children were abducted and taken into a nearby forest.

An eyewitness described how the bandits shot at the villagers and set fire to those they killed. Additionally, several houses, shops, and vehicles were burned down in the violent rampage.

ASP Abubakar Sadiq, the police spokesperson in the state, confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is underway to gather more information about the attack and its perpetrators. Updates on the investigation will be shared as they become available.

“Yesterday, June 22, 2024, at about 2000 hrs, armed bandits in their numbers, armed with dangerous weapons, shooting sporadically, attacked Maidabino village, Danmusa LGA, where they shot and killed about seven (7) persons,” Sadiq reported.

“Investigation is currently ongoing, as further developments will be communicated in due course.”
