In a troubling incident in Yobe State, a 39-year-old man named Abdulmalik Dauda was fatally stabbed by Inspector Mohammed Bulama, who belongs to the Police Mobile Force, 41 Division, located in Damaturu.

The confrontation began as a disagreement between the two men, which escalated into a violent altercation resulting in Dauda being stabbed in the chest.

Following the incident, the Yobe Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, announced that Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Ahmed, has mandated an urgent investigation into the matter.

Commissioner Ahmed condemned the inspector’s violent act and extended his sympathies to the victim’s family, emphasizing the commitment to a thorough investigation aimed at delivering justice.

According to the official statement, it was disclosed that on September 29, 2024, around 6:20 PM, Inspector Mohammed Bulama, aged 38, had a fierce argument with Abdulmalik Dauda (also known as Baksha), 39, concerning an unresolved issue in Zango Area.

This dispute quickly turned violent, leading to Bulama allegedly stabbing Dauda in the chest, while Bulama himself also suffered injuries to the head during the exchange.

Bulama was apprehended shortly after at the ‘C’ Divisional Police Headquarters, where he had taken shelter. Currently, the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is actively looking into the case, with Bulama held in custody awaiting internal disciplinary measures and legal proceedings.

The Nigeria Police Force has firmly stated that any form of misconduct among its personnel will not be tolerated, assuring the public that appropriate measures will be taken to ensure accountability and justice in this unfortunate case.
