A tragic incident has occurred involving a 25-year-old Air India pilot, Srishti Tuli, who has reportedly ended her own life.
She was discovered hanging in her Mumbai apartment, leading to the arrest of her boyfriend on harassment charges.
This unfortunate event unfolded in her rented accommodation in Marol, where the police took action against Srishti’s boyfriend, Aditya Pandit, after a relative filed a complaint accusing him of abusive behavior.
The accusations include claims of harassment and coercion regarding her dietary choices, as stated in the FIR reported by the news agency PTI.
Tuli, originally from Uttar Pradesh, had relocated to Mumbai for work about a year ago. She and Pandit had met two years prior while attending a commercial pilot training program in Delhi and subsequently began dating.
On the day of the incident, Pandit was traveling to Delhi when he received a distressing call from Tuli, indicating her intention to take her life.
Upon reaching her flat, he found the door secured from the inside. With help from a locksmith, he gained entry only to discover Tuli’s lifeless body.
She was transported to Seven Hills Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, and authorities reported that no suicide note was located at the scene.
Tuli’s uncle later contacted law enforcement, alleging that Pandit consistently harassed and publicly humiliated her, as well as pressured her about her eating habits.
Following this complaint, Pandit was apprehended under the abetment of suicide provision in the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhit, resulting in a four-day remand in police custody.
