Bala Galadima, a pastor of the Evangelical Church Winning All in the Lubo community of Gombe State, was tragically killed by armed intruders.
This event took place during the early hours of Sunday, February 9, 2025.
According to DSP Buhari Abdullahi, the police spokesperson, it was confirmed to be a robbery incident.
“It was a robbery, as they broke into the home at night, likely intending to rob him,” said the PPRO.
“Regrettably, due to the way he was shot in the back, it seems he might have tried to escape, which is completely understandable, and he was shot.”
Abdullahi also mentioned that the Commissioner of Police, Bello Yahaya, paid a visit to the hospital where the deceased’s body was taken and has dispatched a special squad to ensure community safety. He assured that those responsible would be apprehended and brought to justice.
One local resident, Ahmadu, reported that the assailants entered the pastor’s home from a neighboring civil defense personnel’s compound.
“They initially went to the ECWA Church before moving to a nearby area where they stole some cash. Their intention was not to target the pastor, but he was shot when he looked outside upon hearing commotion. He was shot in the back,” shared Ahmadu.
