The United Kingdom has expressed its disapproval of Femi Fani-Kayode, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for his controversial comments during the electoral season. Ben Llewellyn-Jones, the British Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, stated in an interview with Nigeria Info FM on Sunday that it was wrong for Fani-Kayode to speak on behalf of a party without the party distancing itself from him. Last month, Fani-Kayode was questioned by the Department of State Services (DSS) for claiming that the presidential flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, had a meeting with army generals before the elections. Llewellyn-Jones also warned that the UK government will be issuing visa bans to those who are undermining democracy, with a list of between 5 and 10 people already on the watchlist.
