Traditional Rulers in Umuahia Issue Bold Decree Against Kidnappers
In Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State, traditional leaders have taken a firm stance against kidnappers by invoking a death curse on those preying on their community.
This significant declaration was made on December 24 during a special prayer gathering where they performed rituals that included pouring libations and breaking kola nuts and alligator peppers, specifically targeting the local bandits.
Under the leadership of Eze Innocent Nwaigwe, the kings proclaimed that any kidnapper threatening the residents would face dire consequences.
Additionally, the traditional rulers expressed hopes for a safe and secure environment for the community, particularly during the Christmas and New Year celebrations, as they prayed for the continued safety of all Umuahia North citizens.
In their unique invocation, the kings called upon bees to sting anyone hiding from justice in the surrounding woods, emphasizing that kidnappers would either die or be captured if they did not abandon their criminal behaviors.
The monarchs also offered prayers for Governor Alex Otti, commending his administration’s efforts in enhancing security and effective governance in Abia State so far.
Reflecting on the ceremony, Eze Innocent Nwaigwe noted that the chiefs urged the deities to punish kidnappers severely unless they changed their unlawful ways.
