Vandals Behind Street Light Damage Arrested in Rivers

Suspected Street Light Vandals Nabbed In Rivers (via Primetweets)

Law enforcement in Port-Harcourt has taken two individuals into custody for damaging and attempting to steal solar street lights from NDDC along Danjuma Drive, near Trans-Amadi Road.

The arrested individuals are Shaibu Yusuf, a 30-year-old from Bolari Town in Gombe State, and Ibrahim Abubakar, 28, from Katsina State. Both resided at the Okuru scrap dump in the Abuloma Community, Port-Harcourt.

Recovered items from the suspects include several components related to the solar lights such as poles, panels, bolts, nuts, and a knife.

During interrogation, the suspects admitted to being part of a group involved in the theft and destruction of solar lights and manhole covers in the vicinity.

Police spokesperson SP Grace Iringe-Koko confirmed the arrests and noted that the suspects have been formally charged. Investigations continue to locate additional members of their group for prosecution.
