Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are eating good in quarantine. In late March 2020, the Cravings author jumped on what will historically be heralded as the month of banana bread (seriously, is there a soul out there that hasn’t baked a quarantine loaf?) and offered to make some for whoever was willing to trade her a fresh bag of romaine (with all these baked goods, we need some greens). Ultimately, Legend wasn’t thrilled they only had enough bananas for a single loaf, so Teigen was only willing to part with half. Family first!
About a week later, Teigen had moved on from banana bread, picked up a bottle of tequila, and attempted to make some doughnuts. Generally, one would caution against the use of a KitchenAid mixer while wasted, but the model is clearly used to living on the edge. In a Twitter video, she showed off her icing skills by creating a perfect chocolate glaze while Legend cheered her on. “I am hammered honestly,” she wrote, and in that moment, Teigen was all of us.
By the time Easter rolled around, Teigen was officially done with cooking. In an Instagram Story, she admitted she was generally exhausted, so Legend stepped in to make a holiday feast of fried chicken, scalloped potatoes, stove top stuffing, and a “big ranchy iceberg.” Um, when we’re done social distancing, can we stop by for dinner, too?
