Wife Takes Husband to Court Over His “Spicy” Bedroom Experiment Gone Wrong

A woman from Harare has taken legal action against her husband, accusing him of incorporating chillis into their sexual relationship, which has resulted in severe health issues for her.

This information surfaced during a hearing at the Harare Civil Court, where Joyce Garikayi requested a protection order against her spouse, Jack Mukandwe.

Joyce claimed that Jack’s unusual method of adding chilli to their intimate moments caused her significant discomfort and constant itching. She expressed, “My private parts are reacting and itching because of the chilli my husband uses, claiming it’s to enhance our sexual experiences. When I refuse, he insults me, attributing my challenges to supposed goblins from my father’s side,” she recounts to the court.

In a surprising turn, Jack did not refute these claims; he acknowledged that he had picked up this practice from friends who had similarly incorporated it into their relationships.

Additionally, Joyce charged Jack with physical and emotional mistreatment, stating that he often beat her with an electric cable and insulted her in front of their children. She shared that his unpredictable behavior included removing asbestos from their roof when angered. Concerned for her safety, Joyce moved in with her parents but alleged that Jack continued to follow and intimidate her.

Jack responded to the accusations by apologizing for his violent behavior, attributing it to his quick temper and expressed a wish to mend their marriage. However, Joyce remained vigilant, placing her safety and health above all.

Magistrate Meenal Naratom granted Joyce a protection order, recognizing the emotional and physical abuse she had faced, emphasizing the importance of ensuring her protection from any future harm.
