Ohio Woman Sentenced for Killing and Eating a Cat

A woman aged 27 has been sentenced to a year in jail for the shocking crime of killing and consuming a cat in Ohio.

Reports from the New York Post reveal that Allexis Ferrell carried out the act in August, in the vicinity of her residence.

“What did you do? Why did you kill the cat?” a police officer can be heard questioning her in the video.

During the sentencing, Judge Frank Forchione expressed his disgust, labeling Ferrell as a disgrace to both her community and the nation. “You’ve embarrassed this county. You’ve embarrassed this nation. More importantly, you’ve embarrassed yourself,” he remarked, as reported by the outlet.

He further emphasized the seriousness of her actions, stating, “To me, you present quite a danger to our community. This is repulsive to me. I mean, that anyone would do this to an animal. And an animal’s like a child. I don’t know if you understand that or not. I can’t express the disappointment, shock, disgust that this crime has brought to me. I don’t know what could prompt anyone to want to eat a cat,” adding to the gravity of the situation.

Ferrell received a one-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to a felony charge of animal cruelty.

Additionally, this sentence will run concurrently with another 18-month sentence she is serving for prior offenses, which include a theft charge from 201 and a case of child endangerment from the previous year.

Stark County Prosecutor Chelsea Small described the incident as unsettling. “It’s one of the most disturbing cases that I’ve seen as a prosecutor,” she stated.
