The commission announced on Wednesday through its representative, Dele Oyewale, that there is an active warrant for Bello’s arrest.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has stated that former Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, is not currently in their custody.
Representative Dele Oyewale mentioned in the statement that reports claiming Bello is held by the EFCC are inaccurate.
“Reports in the media indicating that former Governor Yahaya Bello is in the custody of the EFCC are untrue. We want to clarify that Bello is not in our facility.
“He is still wanted due to ongoing allegations linked to N80.2 billion in money laundering, and there is an active arrest warrant issued against him.”
