Ibrahim Chatta, who is in his prime time since almost a decade, said he will only be featuring in his own produced movies while he will be turning down offers from his colleagues.
Speaking on his current projects to punch last month, Chatta Ibrahim said,
“I have no regrets in life. There are a lot of people out there dying to be where I am. Right now, I am planning my retirement but I am trying to work on my own project. It is a movie titled, Voiceless, and it will take me 32 days. The movie is all about lending our voices to correct the ills in society. The story is a simple one about how a 11-year-old girl was raped by seven wealthy university students. They molested her to the extent that she had to start using diapers. At the end of the day, the culprits were not punished. It is basically about speaking for those people whose voices are ordinarily not heard. For my other project, I would be using about 200 nurses and 2000 cast members.”
However, his lovers and well wishers have sent him strong messages on different social media platforms that it is not yet time for him to give up on acting.
There were some words flying around that “In February 2020, precisely at the location of Body-Bag produced by ace female comedian, Princess at Iwaya Road, Onike, Yaba, Lagos, Chatta, made it known to whoever care to listen that he will retire from acting soon. Though, he said not totally out of the industry as he will be appearing in his own productions, but he will no longer be participating in other producers’ jobs.
Also in March 7th 2020, at Baboo Hall, Ogunnusi Road, Omole Ogba, Lagos, during popular movie director, Kayode Adebayo’s wedding, the gifted Ibrahim Chatta repeated the statement while addressing some of the younger colleagues who gathered beside the security gate to form another after party at the event around 7pm of the day. Chatta was sharing his experiences in the game with them and also advised them to be prayerful, and be watchful, which is the only way to climb the ladder of stardom. The talented actor also said in his words that he will stop going to movie location come April 30th 2020.
The likes of Seun Olaiya, Amuda Eko, Kunle Afod, Allwell Ademola and other stars later joined the table when he pronounced this”.
His fans immediately posted the below messages to urge him to revisit his decision.
