Following the recent La Liga match where Real Madrid triumphed 2-1 against Celta Vigo, Carlo Ancelotti addressed the tension between star players Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior. This arose after a notable moment of frustration on the pitch.
Madrid opened the scoring early thanks to Kylian Mbappe’s goal in the 20th minute. However, a crucial decision by Vinicius sparked Bellingham’s frustration.
Vinicius executed an impressive solo dribble, maneuvering past three defenders and entering the Celta box. Instead of passing to the better-placed Bellingham, he opted for a challenging shot from a tight angle.
Bellingham’s displeasure was evident during the match, leading to a brief exchange between the two players.
Complicating matters, Williot Swedberg netted an equalizer for Celta Vigo in the 51st minute. Luckily for Real Madrid, Vinicius redeemed himself by scoring the decisive goal 15 minutes later, securing the win.
In his post-match interview, Ancelotti expressed understanding of Bellingham’s frustration but conveyed that it was all settled afterward. He stated, “I didn’t observe the incident you’re referring to, but if there was a reaction, it shows character, which is commendable.”
He continued, “I was unaware of that play during the match. I will review it. However, it’s important to remain composed; after the game, they were seen chatting and laughing. There are no issues between them.”
Ancelotti praised his team for their perseverance, acknowledging that while there were areas for improvement, the players exhibited great commitment and resilience, especially against a well-performing Celta team.
