Arne Slot Bids Farewell to Pursuit of Liverpool’s Martin Zubimendi

Arne Slot slams transfer door closed on Liverpool target Martin Zubimendi image

Arne Slot has stated that Liverpool will not pursue a transfer for Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi in January.

The club had been interested in the Spain international throughout the summer but ultimately fell short in securing his transfer to Anfield.

Zubimendi was identified as Slot’s top choice for midfield, and the coach acknowledged the disappointment in not signing him.

Recent reports suggest that the situation might change, as Zubimendi is reportedly unhappy with Real Sociedad’s performance this season.

The exits of Robin Le Normand and Mikel Merino have significantly affected the team, and Zubimendi is believed to be reconsidering his previous decision.

When asked about the possibility of signing the 25-year-old ahead of Liverpool’s 3-0 win over Bournemouth, Slot dismissed the idea, stating, “There’s no point discussing Zubimendi anymore, as he’s staying with Real Sociedad and we are content with Ryan Gravenberch.”

Liverpool is back on track after their recent victory and is set to face West Ham United in the Carabao Cup Third Round on September 25.
