Carlos Baleba, the talented midfielder from Brighton, has addressed the ongoing transfer rumors regarding interest from Arsenal and Tottenham.
At just 20 years old, Baleba has stepped in as the successor to Moises Caicedo and has quickly become a standout player in the Premier League. Despite the interest from major clubs, Baleba asserts that he is not ready to leave Brighton.
This season, under the guidance of new head coach Fabian Hurzeler, Baleba has made considerable strides, contributing with a goal, an assist, and several impressive performances that have drawn attention from top-tier teams.
Nonetheless, his focus remains on personal development and committing to his current team rather than on lucrative transfer deals.
Carlos Baleba’s comments on transfer rumors
In a recent conversation with Sky Sports News, Baleba reiterated his dedication to Brighton, stating he does not contemplate leaving the club. “I don’t really think like that: playing for two or three years and then leaving,” he explained. “In my head, it’s all about working and helping my club.”
He further expressed that he prioritizes teamwork and self-improvement over transfer speculation, noting, “If there are big clubs who want me, it’s not something that worries me or gets me excited. I just need to work hard and keep a cool head.”
Given Brighton’s history of profitable player sales, any potential buyer for Baleba would likely need to present a significant offer, likely exceeding £50 million ($64m).
Brighton isn’t rushing to sell as Baleba is still developing his talents and could potentially increase in value with further progress.
For the time being, both Arsenal and Tottenham may need to turn their attention elsewhere, as Baleba remains committed to aiding Brighton and achieving his utmost potential.
