This summer, Chelsea is gearing up for an active transfer window with several players expected to come and go.
A key aim for Chelsea is to secure a top-tier center forward to anchor their attack, and manager Enzo Maresca has almost confirmed the club’s intentions to pursue this goal in the upcoming window.
This season, the 23-year-old Nicolas Jackson has been the primary forward, yet his performance has fallen short of expectations.
Despite recording 10 goals and 5 assists in the Premier League this season, Jackson’s temperament has often raised concerns, highlighted by his recent red card during a match with Newcastle United.
As a result of this suspension, Chelsea will enter the last two matches of the season against Manchester United and Nottingham Forest without a recognized striker.
This situation underscores Chelsea’s urgent need to bring in a forward this summer, a move that Maresca has confirmed is in the works.

Maresca’s comments on the summer striker acquisition for Chelsea
Speaking to reporters, Maresca was questioned on whether Jackson’s progress has been hindered by a lack of competition. The Italian responded: “I can’t answer that right now; I don’t know what would happen if another number nine were here. In my view, he has developed significantly with us. But would it be more beneficial for him to have another number nine? I’m not sure.”
When prompted about the desire for competition in the forward position, he affirmed: “Absolutely.”
Chelsea is reportedly interested in several strikers, including Liam Delap and Victor Osimhen. With Maresca’s acknowledgment of the need to sign a striker, it will soon be clear who will step in to fill the forward position.
