Overview of CONCACAF 2026 World Cup Qualification
The CONCACAF 2026 World Cup qualification involves a three-round process to determine the teams representing North and Central America, as well as the Caribbean.
The first round features the four lowest-ranked teams competing in two-legged playoff matches to progress to the second round.
In the second round, the two first-round winners and the top 28 ranked nations (excluding hosts) are split into six groups of five teams each. Teams play both home and away fixtures within their groups, with the top two from each group moving on to the third round.
The third round comprises three groups of four teams each. Teams play home and away matches, with the winners of each group earning direct qualification to the World Cup. The two best runners-up proceed to the inter-confederation playoff phase for another shot at qualification.
