Manchester United fans might feel that Cristiano Ronaldo has had a significant impact. The Portuguese superstar, who left the club amid controversy in 2022, might have ignited essential changes at the organization.

Former striker Louis Saha suggests that the Red Devils are finally heeding Ronaldo’s advice for a complete transformation.

During his dramatic departure, Ronaldo emphasized the need for the club to “rebuild everything” to reclaim its former glory.

Additionally, he openly criticized Erik ten Hag and pointed out the club’s apparent lack of ambition. Now, Saha believes that Ronaldo’s insights were spot on, and the ongoing changes at Manchester United validate this.

Ronaldo’s enduring influence on Man Utd

In a conversation with Casino Hawks, Saha remarked, “Cristiano Ronaldo was correct in stating that Manchester United needed a comprehensive rebuild. It seems that those in charge started paying attention following that interview. Look at the new CEO, the revamped backroom team, and the discussions about a new stadium—it’s all coming to fruition.”

Saha’s viewpoint holds weight. The introduction of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS as minority stakeholders has infused the club with renewed vigor.

Significant changes include Omar Berrada, formerly of Manchester City, taking on the role of CEO, and Dan Ashworth from Newcastle now serves as sporting director. Furthermore, Ruud van Nistelrooy’s return as a coach brings a well-known winning spirit back to Old Trafford.

New acquisitions such as Leny Yoro, Manuel Ugarte, and Matthijs de Ligt are bolstering the squad, providing supporters with optimism that this rebuild is genuinely underway. Saha noted, “It’s fitting that the club is listening to voices from the Sir Alex Ferguson era. Fans desire to rekindle that atmosphere, and figures like Ronaldo and Rio Ferdinand understand winning firsthand.”

As Manchester United gets ready to take on Tottenham this Sunday, it’s clear that Ronaldo’s influence, even from a distance, continues to affect the club’s direction. Although his time at United concluded on a disappointing note, his remarks seem to have catalyzed the club’s journey back to prominence.
