Real Madrid aimed to bounce back to form after facing tough matches recently under Carlo Ancelotti’s leadership. After losing 3-1 to AC Milan, their record in the UEFA Champions League stands at two wins and two losses so far. Additionally, their recent defeat to Barcelona, who won 4-0 away, remains a sore point.
Barcelona had started the weekend nine points ahead in La Liga, albeit having played one more match than Madrid. Only Osasuna has managed to earn points against Hansi Flick’s side in domestic matches this season.
This set the stage for a crucial game against Osasuna, with two of Ancelotti’s star players making an impact before halftime.
In the 34th minute, Jude Bellingham assisted Vinicius Junior, who executed a fantastic finish. Following that, Bellingham scored his first goal of the season, delicately lifting the ball over the Osasuna goalkeeper, Sergio Herrera.

Injuries Striking Real Madrid Against Osasuna
Despite the notable goal contributions from the two players, the more significant issue during the first half was the injuries to key players. In the 20th minute, Rodrygo had to leave the pitch on a stretcher, visibly distressed.
The situation worsened as Eder Militao sustained what appeared to be a serious knee injury, also requiring a stretcher. Militao’s replacement, academy graduate Raul Ascensio, provided a brilliant assist for Bellingham’s goal, but another concerning moment came when Lucas Vazquez had to be substituted at halftime.

The potential absence of Militao or Rodrygo would be a significant setback for Ancelotti, but losing Vazquez could be even more detrimental. With club captain Dani Carvajal already sidelined for the season due to an ACL injury, Madrid lacks a specialized right-back if Vazquez is also unavailable.
