Klopp’s decision to leave Liverpool stemmed from exhaustion and a lack of energy due to the demanding nature of the job. Expressing the need to step down after eight and a half years, Klopp highlighted his diminishing energy levels and the inability to continuously perform at a high level.
His explanation bears similarities to Pep Guardiola’s departure from Barcelona in 2012, where Guardiola cited exhaustion and the need to recharge after a gruelling period at the club.
