Robert Lewandowski solidified his status as an exceptional striker by reaching a milestone of 100 goals in the Champions League, making him only the third player to achieve this feat.
His two goals for Barcelona against Brest recently pushed his total to 101, joining the exclusive club with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
After the match, Lewandowski shared a memorable comment.
He humorously remarked, “To join Messi and Ronaldo… I guess they are pretty good, right?”
He paid homage to the late comic Norm MacDonald and reflected on the significance of his achievement.
“I am very happy; it’s a great achievement,” he stated.
“Many years ago, I never imagined I would reach over 100 goals in the Champions League.”
With Messi now playing in MLS and Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League, Lewandowski aims to close the gap on their goal counts.
Currently, Ronaldo has 140 goals, and Messi has 129, making it a significant challenge for Lewandowski to surpass them in the future.
