Barcelona Prepares for Sevilla Match with Lewandowski Fit Again

Barcelona’s key player, Robert Lewandowski, is set to return for their match against Sevilla on October 20.

Under the management of Hansi Flick, Barcelona enters the international break ranked first in La Liga, holding a three-point advantage over Real Madrid after nine matches.

The highly anticipated El Clasico against Real Madrid is scheduled for October 26, marking Flick’s first involvement in this monumental clash. However, the immediate challenge for Barcelona is the home game against Sevilla this weekend.

Flick is also facing concerns regarding his squad, especially with the young talent Lamine Yamal who may miss the Sevilla match due to a hamstring issue sustained while with the Spain national team.

Though Yamal’s injury is not serious, Flick might choose to err on the side of caution and not include him in the lineup.

Additionally, Ferran Torres, Ronald Araujo, and Andreas Christensen are still unavailable, alongside Marc Bernal and Marc-Andre ter Stegen who are out for the rest of the season.

Fortunately, Lewandowski’s injury outlook is encouraging after he experienced a shin injury during Poland’s recent 3-3 draw against Croatia, where he was accidentally injured by goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic, who received a red card for the tackle.

Following his return to Barcelona, Lewandowski was evaluated, and fortunately, no serious injury was found according to Diario AS. He did suffer some bruising but is expected to rest and possibly take part in training ahead of the match against Sevilla.

Despite not scoring for his national team this month, Lewandowski has been in formidable form for Barcelona, netting 12 goals so far this season across various competitions.
