England’s Interim Coach Announces Final Squad
Lee Carsley has revealed his squad as the acting head coach of the England men’s national team, featuring Liverpool players Trent Alexander-Arnold and Curtis Jones.
After the Nations League matches, Carsley will return to his role with the U21 team as Thomas Tuchel is set to take over as the head coach at the beginning of 2025.
The appointment of Tuchel, a former Chelsea manager, raised some eyebrows last month, as he becomes the third non-English coach to lead the team.
Carsley will manage matches in the UEFA Nations League against Greece on November 14 and against the Republic of Ireland at Wembley on November 17.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is included again, while Curtis Jones rejoins the squad after missing out last month due to the birth of his child.

Jones, who scored the winning goal in England’s U21 Euro 2023 final against Spain under Carsley’s guidance, is now poised to earn his first senior cap.
Jones has made seven starts in the Premier League this season, demonstrating the trust his club has in him, which influenced Carsley’s decision to include him in the squad.
Carsley praised Jones, saying, “He is a versatile player I greatly admire. He consistently shows his quality and contributes with goals and assists. He has been an integral part of our previous successes.”
With potential injury concerns for Arsenal’s Declan Rice, Jones might be in line for his debut during what has been a strong season thus far.
