Tottenham vs. Fulham lineups, expected starting 11, team news and injuries: Forster set to replace Vicario in goal for hosts image

The upcoming match between Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham could present key opportunities for the winner this Sunday.

With Tottenham sitting sixth and just one point ahead of Fulham in the Premier League, both teams are in close contention.

They find themselves within a tightly packed top half of the standings, making the stakes of this match particularly significant.

A win for either side could push them into the top five, while a loss or draw may allow other teams to capitalize and catch up as the weekend progresses.

Tottenham recently achieved a stunning 4-0 victory against Manchester City, followed by a 2-2 draw with Roma in the UEFA Europa League.

Conversely, Fulham faced a tough 4-1 loss against Wolves at home last week, impacting their promising start to the season.

Here’s a look at the current team updates and expected lineups for the clash at Tottenham Stadium.

Predicted Lineups for Tottenham vs. Fulham

Tottenham will be without their primary goalkeeper, Guglielmo Vicario, who has a fractured ankle sustained during the game against City. Despite playing through the pain for an hour, he faces several months out, leading to Fraser Forster stepping in as his replacement.

Injuries will also keep Richarlison and Micky van de Ven sidelined for a few more weeks, while Wilson Odobert is dealing with a longer recovery.

Cristian Romero may return soon, but his availability for the Fulham match is doubtful as Postecoglou mentioned it’s “unlikely” he will play.

Additionally, Rodrigo Bentancur will miss domestic matches until after Christmas due to a suspension for inappropriate comments regarding teammate Heung-min Son.

Expected Tottenham lineup (4-2-3-1): Forster (GK) — Porro, Romero, Dragusin, Udogie — Sarr, Maddison — Kulusevski, Johnson, Son — Solanke.

Injuries: Vicario (ankle), Van de Ven, Richarlison, Odobert (all hamstring)
Suspended: Bentancur

Fulham, on the other hand, will likely be without Harrison Reed, who is expected to undergo knee surgery and miss 5-6 weeks, according to manager Marco Silva.

Joachim Andersen has a calf strain that will keep him out for multiple games. Sander Berge and Jorge Cuenca will also not make the trip but are anticipated to return sooner than Andersen.

Expected Fulham lineup (4-2-3-1): Leno (GK) — Tete, Andersen, Bassey, Robinson — Pereira, Lukic — Iwobi, Smith-Rowe, Nelson — Jiminez

Injuries: Reed (knee), Andersen (calf), Berge, Cuenca (both knocks)
Suspended: None
