Man United Sets Sights on Duo from Napoli Following Recent Scouting Expedition

Manchester United

Manchester United is interested in Napoli players Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Alessandro Buongiorno, after reportedly sending a scout to watch their recent Serie A match against Empoli.

The club is contemplating potential acquisitions of both players in the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, a scout was sent by the Premier League club to evaluate the game, hinting at possible interests in both athletes.

Manchester United Eyes Kvaratskhelia and Buongiorno

Kvaratskhelia has emerged as one of the leading forwards in Europe since his transfer to Napoli in 2022.

The 23-year-old Georgian winger has already netted four goals and assisted twice in the current season’s 10 matches, with his performances at Euro 2024 further enhancing his reputation.

Although Napoli’s manager, Antonio Conte, considers him “unsellable,” negotiations for a new contract have stalled due to the player’s salary expectations.

Buongiorno, a center-back who moved to Napoli from Torino this summer, has made a notable impact in his brief tenure. Despite signing a new five-year contract, Napoli may contemplate offers exceeding €70 million ($75.45m) for the promising Italian defender.

While Manchester United is exploring options for both players, it’s uncertain if any transfers will occur, particularly due to their significant price tags.

Nonetheless, with uncertainties surrounding the futures of Harry Maguire, Jonny Evans, and Victor Lindelof at Old Trafford, acquiring a new center-back may be a priority.
