Maresca Believes Chelsea Talent Will Shine Brightly in 2025

Enzo Maresca confident Chelsea star can explode in 2025 as form improves image

Enzo Maresca, the manager of Chelsea, had an important message for Jadon Sancho following the team’s 2-0 victory in the UEFA Conference League against Heidenheim.

With this win, Chelsea extended their winning streak to four in European matches, thanks to goals from Christopher Nkunku and Mykhailo Mudryk in the second half while playing in Germany.

Both Nkunku and Mudryk contributed to securing the win, allowing Chelsea to maintain their top spot in the league standings. Sancho, on loan from Manchester United, also played a crucial part by assisting both goals.

The England forward’s impressive performance reaffirms Maresca’s trust in him, as he was included in the starting lineup for a rotated attacking setup.

This latest game adds to Sancho’s tally, bringing him to five assists in just six starts across all competitions this season under Maresca.

Sancho’s loan to Chelsea is seen as crucial for his career, especially with uncertainties surrounding his future at Manchester United under the new management of Ruben Amorim.

Maresca acknowledged the challenges Sancho has faced but expressed optimism about his improvement as the busy 2025 schedule approaches.

“From the beginning of the season, I mentioned that Jadon is a vital player for us. He needs to be fit both mentally and physically, and he will greatly assist us. His performance tonight showcased his significance. We need that skill in the final third against a well-organized defense,” Maresca commented after the match.

Chelsea will resume Premier League action on December 1 against Aston Villa, where Sancho will aim for his first league start in over a month.
