When does the Premier League 2025/26 season begin?
The inaugural matchweek of the 2025/26 Premier League season is expected to take place over the weekend of August 16/17.
However, once the broadcasters finalize the upcoming televised fixtures, it’s likely that the season opener will occur on Friday, August 15.
Since 2017, with the exception of the 2020/21 season, Sky Sports has chosen to showcase a game on Friday night as part of the opening weekend.
