Ruben Amorim has officially taken over as the new manager of Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The Portuguese coach concluded his time at Sporting CP with three victories, including a recent 4-2 win against his former club, Sporting Braga, after being named the Red Devils’ new leader.

During the upcoming international break in November, Amorim plans to evaluate his team and prepare for his Premier League debut against Ipswich Town on November 24.

In his initial days in this role, Amorim faces a crucial decision regarding the future of interim coach Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Van Nistelrooy, who stepped in after Erik ten Hag’s exit last month, has maintained an unbeaten record in his four games in charge.

Although the former United striker wishes to stay at the club as an assistant manager, he also has aspirations of managing it in the future.

Amorim’s intentions for Van Nistelrooy are still unclear, but engaging in discussions with him is a top priority as he settles into his new role.

“We’re talking about a club legend who has done exceptional work. I’ll have a conversation with him on Monday. I’ll be transparent and let you know everything. Let’s wait until we speak,” Amorim stated after his team’s win against Braga.

Van Nistelrooy rejoined United this summer as part of Ten Hag’s coaching setup, and his current contract extends until June 2026.
