Bukayo Saka will undergo a scan following an injury that forced him to leave the field during the second half of England’s 2-1 loss to Greece in the UEFA Nations League.
A late goal by Vangelis Pavlidis left the crowd at Wembley in disbelief, as the Three Lions, guided by interim manager Lee Carsley, struggled to find cohesion despite their strong attacking lineup.
Saka, who began the game on the right wing, left the pitch while gripping the back of his right leg after Pavlidis scored midway through the second half.
According to The Standard, the Arsenal star is scheduled for a scan prior to the upcoming match against Finland on Sunday.
Lee Carsley’s Remarks on Bukayo Saka’s Injury
“He’s being assessed,” Carsley informed the media after the game.
“You could see he had discomfort in his leg before the first goal.”
Current Injury Situation for Arsenal
Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, is hoping Saka’s injury is not severe, especially with another key player already out of the lineup.
Martin Odegaard has been sidelined since injuring his ankle ligaments while representing Norway during the last international break.
With Arsenal trailing Liverpool by just one point at the Premier League summit, they will face Bournemouth on October 19 in their next match.
