Salah’s Absence from Egypt National Team: A Game-Changer for Liverpool Before Chelsea Showdown

Mohamed Salah out of Egypt squad: Major boost for Liverpool ahead of Chelsea clash image

Liverpool supporters can relax as it has been officially confirmed that Mohamed Salah will not participate in Egypt’s upcoming qualifier for the Africa Cup of Nations against Mauritania.

The striker will return to Liverpool early, thus avoiding the risk of injury on the hazardous artificial turf in Mauritania.

Salah avoids hazardous pitch in Mauritania

Egypt’s head coach Hossam Hassan stated after the team’s 2-0 victory against Mauritania that he would permit any player to withdraw from the return leg due to the challenging playing conditions and aggressive tackles from the opposing team.

The Egyptian Football Association has verified that Salah will not be making the trip to Stade Cheikha Ould Boidiya, instead opting to go back to Liverpool’s AXA Training Centre.

The Egyptian FA mentioned, “The technical team of Egypt’s national football squad, under the guidance of manager Hossam Hassan, convened with Mohamed Salah, the team captain.

“It was decided during this discussion to rest the player for the upcoming match.”

This choice is a significant advantage for Liverpool as they prepare for their Premier League match against Chelsea next Sunday.

With Salah returning early, he will be refreshed and prepared for the impending challenge.

Both Salah and Virgil van Dijk, who departed the Netherlands camp following a disciplinary red card, are anticipated to join Liverpool’s training activities shortly, just in time for the important match against Chelsea.

This news is particularly encouraging for Liverpool fans, especially given that injuries are currently affecting key players like Alisson, Alexis Mac Allister, and Harvey Elliott.
