Striker Chooses Between Chelsea and Man United in £30m Move

£30m striker picks his next club between Chelsea and Man United image

Fans of Chelsea are eagerly anticipating the decision of Liam Delap regarding his next club.

Despite Ipswich Town facing relegation from the Premier League this season, the striker has showcased his talent and is rumored to be on the move from Portman Road as the season wraps up.

Both Chelsea and Manchester United are reported to be interested in signing Delap, who has seemingly made his choice between the two clubs.

Journalist Ben Jacobs suggests that Delap has a strong preference for a transfer to Old Trafford, indicating a possible return to Manchester.

This inclination could work in favor of United in the upcoming transfer tussle for the centre-forward.

When discussing potential striker targets for Chelsea, Jacobs mentioned on the London Is Blue podcast: “Several names are under consideration… Liam Delap from Ipswich is among them; the competition comes from Manchester United. The troubling news for Chelsea could arise if Manchester United secures victory in the Europa League.

“Delap shows a strong interest in United. They are prepared to trigger that £30m release clause. United officials have indicated they do not require player sales.”

“While it’s not to say that Delap isn’t also attracted to Chelsea’s offer – he is familiar with figures like Enzo Maresca and Joe Shields – his priority appears to be returning to the North East if possible.”

Thus, Manchester United may hold an edge beyond the pitch. While United feels confident, that doesn’t entirely exclude Chelsea from the competition.”

Enzo Maresca is eager for Chelsea to recruit Liam Delap to collaborate with him again, but Manchester United may be in a strong position if they opt to utilize his £30m relegation clause this summer.

Currently, the status of both clubs regarding Champions League football next season remains uncertain.

The Blues are in the top five of the Premier League and have two matches remaining to secure their Champions League spot.

On the other hand, the only chance for Manchester United to enter Europe’s premier club tournament is by clinching the Europa League title against Tottenham Hotspur next Wednesday.
