Thomas Muller Poised for LAFC Move with Adidas Support

Bayern legend Thomas Muller set for LAFC transfer thanks to Adidas lifeline image

Thomas Muller may soon trade the iconic Bavarian beer for the warm rays of California.

The legendary Bayern Munich forward is reportedly nearing a transfer to LAFC, with significant support coming from Adidas, the prominent sportswear brand.

At 35 years old, Muller is entering the summer as a free agent after a remarkable 25-year tenure at Bayern. While LAFC is keen to sign him, their budget appears insufficient to accommodate Muller’s financial demands.

This is where Adidas, a longstanding partner of both Muller and Bayern, could play a pivotal role in making this transition a reality.

Recent reports (via BILD) suggest that Adidas is contemplating enhancing Muller’s personal contract should he take the leap to MLS.

This additional funding could bridge the gap between LAFC’s proposal and Muller’s anticipated salary. An Adidas representative, Oliver Bruggen, remained tight-lipped, stating, “Adidas does not discuss contract negotiations publicly.”

Why Thomas Muller is Choosing LAFC Over Other Options?

MLS has welcomed many seasoned European athletes, yet Muller isn’t exploring other options. Despite interest from teams such as Philadelphia Union, FC Cincinnati, and Japan’s Vissel Kobe, his preference is firmly with LAFC.

Moreover, LAFC’s partnership with Bayern through the “Red & Gold Football” initiative presents Muller as the ideal link between the two entities.

Bayern, who still regard Muller as a key player, are reportedly advocating for the move as well. If successful, Muller could assume the role of a Bayern ambassador in the U.S., enhancing the visibility of both the club and Adidas in the American landscape, particularly with the 2026 World Cup approaching.

Muller is currently in the U.S. with Bayern for the Club World Cup. Following this, he might embark on a new adventure amidst palm trees, Hollywood, and a black-and-gold uniform.
