Tottenham Hotspur has introduced Thomas Frank, formerly of Brentford, as their new head coach, succeeding Ange Postecoglou. His remarkable achievements with Brentford earned him this opportunity, prompting Daniel Levy to place confidence in Frank.
Following Frank’s encouragement, Tottenham is competing to sign Bryan Mbuemo from Brentford, who has recently been linked with Manchester United.
According to Sky Sports, initial conversations have taken place between the North London club and the Cameroonian striker regarding a potential transfer. Tottenham aims to take Manchester United’s place in the pursuit of Mbuemo.
Sources indicate that the 25-year-old is interested in Frank’s move to Tottenham and is considering reuniting with his former coach.
Manchester United is eager to revamp their underwhelming forward line and has finalized the acquisition of Matheus Cunha from Wolves, looking to pair him with Mbuemo.
However, their initial offer of £55 million was turned down by Brentford, who reportedly values Mbuemo at over £60 million.
Where might Mbuemo land this summer?
In addition to Mbuemo, Tottenham is also eyeing Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo and Tyler Dibling from Southampton. The club is keen to bring in significant talent following a 17th-place finish in the Premier League under Postecoglou.

While United is determined to secure Mbuemo, Frank’s appointment and his connection with the player could work in Tottenham’s favor in this deal.
After signing Mbuemo from Troyes just a year into his Brentford tenure, Frank and Mbuemo led the Bees to the Premier League and established them as a competitive team in the top flight.
Mbuemo scored 20 goals last season, especially shining after Ivan Toney’s departure to Saudi Arabia. Thus, Tottenham has a genuine chance, but United remains in the lead.
A second bid from Manchester United is on the horizon. Reports also suggest that Mbuemo is seeking a staggering £250,000-a-week wage from United, which Tottenham is unlikely to meet for the 25-year-old.
