While the international break is typically a quiet period for club football enthusiasts, supporters of national teams eagerly anticipate these dates to root for their country. The upcoming FIFA international window in September will feature World Cup qualifiers for South American, Asian, and African teams, along with Nations League matches for European and North American squads.
The 2024/25 season is set to include multiple international breaks in September, October, November, and March 2025.
Another break is scheduled for June before the CONCACAF Gold Cup, where Mexico aims to defend their championship title.

The next international break is slated for September 2-10, 2024, occurring just under three weeks into the new club season.

Below are the dates for the upcoming year’s international match calendar, leading up to the CONCACAF Gold Cup in June 2025.

The September window will see UEFA (Europe) and CONCACAF (North America) Nations League fixtures. World Cup qualifying matches for CONMEBOL (South America), CAF (Africa), and AFC (Asia) will also take place during this period.
The UEFA Nations League group stage will span September, October, and November, with the quarterfinals and playoffs scheduled for March 2025, followed by the finals in June.
Currently, the Nations League fixtures are the only confirmed matches for Europe, pending the draw for the World Cup qualifiers in the region.
With 16 slots available for European teams in the expanded 48-nation 2026 World Cup, the qualifying process is undergoing adjustments. A total of 12 groups will be formed, where winners directly qualify and runners-up enter playoffs along with the four highest-ranked Nations League teams not securing top-two spots.
The third round of AFC qualifying matches for the 2026 FIFA World Cup is set from September 5, 2024, to June 10, 2025.
Eighteen teams advancing from the second round, comprising of nine group winners and runners-up each, will be split into three groups of six for a home-and-away format. The top two teams from each group will secure direct entry, while third and fourth-placed teams advance to the fourth round.
CONCACAF has confirmed the schedule, venues, and kickoff times for the 2024/25 CONCACAF Nations League group-stage matches in September 2024. The competition includes 41 national teams in three leagues (A, B, C) and will span the September, October, and November 2024 FIFA international windows, culminating in the finals next March.
