On November 24, Leicester City parted ways with manager Steve Cooper following a 2-1 defeat against Chelsea in the Premier League at home.
Cooper had only joined the club in July after Enzo Maresca took over at Chelsea.
Leicester also announced that assistant manager Alan Tate and first-team coach Steve Rands had left the club. Their statement expressed gratitude for the contributions of Cooper, Tate, and Rands during their tenures and wished them well for the future.

With Cooper’s departure, the focus now shifts to identifying his successor at King Power Stadium, with various candidates boasting Premier League experience being considered.
Potential Candidates for Leicester City Manager
As of November 27, former Manchester United interim coach Ruud van Nistelrooy is emerging as the leading contender for the Leicester managerial position.
During his brief time as caretaker for Manchester United, he claimed two wins against Leicester after Erik ten Hag’s exit, under whom he had served as an assistant.
While Van Nistelrooy has drawn interest from some EFL Championship teams, he aims for a management role in a higher division.
Before Cooper’s sacking, David Moyes, the former manager of United, Everton, and West Ham, was the favorite. Having been out of work since leaving West Ham, he might be a cost-effective option with valuable experience in avoiding relegation.
Another name in contention is ex-Chelsea manager Graham Potter, while West Brom’s Carlos Corberan presents a less conventional choice.
Steve Cooper’s Record at Leicester City
Cooper’s tenure as Leicester’s manager began on June 20, 2024, and lasted just over five months.
Throughout his time, he managed only two wins out of 12 Premier League matches and faced a 5-2 defeat in the Carabao Cup against Man United soon after Erik ten Hag’s departure.
At the time of his exit, Leicester was positioned 16th in the league standings, merely two points clear of the relegation zone.
