A video of the incident went viral, showing Tinubu momentarily losing his footing. However, he quickly recovered and continued with the event.

The presidency clarified that it was just a misstep and there was no issue as Tinubu carried on with the program.
This incident occurred at the Eagles Square, where various activities were organized to mark the country’s democracy day anniversary.
The clarification was provided by Dada Olusegun, the president’s special adviser on social media, through a tweet.
The statement reads: “Mr President missed his step while climbing into the truck at the June 12 Democracy Day celebration and tripped. It was a mild misstep. He immediately went on with the ceremonial rounds. No issues.”
