The Nigerian Army has been told to open the Banex Plaza in Abuja and end the illegal shutdown of the market.
This is according to the House of Representatives.
It would be recalled that the Army shut down the popular plaza on Tuesday after an officer was reportedly mobbed.
The House called for the opening of the market on Thursday following the adoption of a motion moved by Whingan Olusesan from Lagos State.
In the motion, the lawmaker narrated the circumstances that led to the mob action and the subsequent action of the military.
He condemned the action of the military and called for better crisis management through the use of “surveillance technology”.
The motion was subsequently adopted by the lawmakers when it was put to vote by the Deputy Speaker, Ben Kalu.
