Impact of Tropical Depression with Heavy Rainfall

Tropical depression makes landfall, causes heavy rain
Tropical depression hits central Vietnam and decreases strength as it moves towards Laos.

As evening fell, the tropical depression reached the central coast spanning from Quang Tri to Quang Nam provinces, with winds between 39-49kph near its center. It was progressing towards the west and north-west at a speed of 10-15kph.

The depression is anticipated to weaken as it penetrates further inland by midnight, with its center expected to reach Laos by 7a.m. on July 16.

Although the tropical depression is downgraded, it is causing significant rainfall in areas of the northern, central, and southern regions for the next two days, with an average precipitation of 60-120mm and up to 200mm in some places.

Meteorologists have cautioned about the likelihood of severe flooding, flash floods, and landslides, especially in low-lying and mountainous regions.
